A few hats!

So this isn't a complete profile of the hats that I have made, but here are a few... just so you can get an idea of what I do! Warning: I'm no pro! I mostly make them for family and friends. I've been commissioned to make a few for people to give as gifts, but seeing as how they take a while to do and figure out I haven't gone any further than that. These are just family photos that happen to have the hats pictured in them, so excuse the photography here...

Boys hats (poor little daughter having to model them all!):

Girl hats:

(The blue hat was a special request from my sister, kinda funky color combo - to match her coat, and the white one was for my little niece and she picked those colors/yarn out)

**I've made hats for older boys and men but I have no pictures to share.**

This was the picture I found on-line of a cupcake hat (found here) and what I went off of...

And here is what I came up with for a cupcake hat. The bow could be anything (buttons, a cuter bow, a flower) and have rhinestones in the middle like you like, but I didn't have any on hand. We could just take the bow off all together if it's too much or too distracting. I couldn't figure out how to do the ribbed brown cupcake bottom, which is kinda a big deal and really helps it in looking like a cupcake (I know how to do it knitting but not crocheting). I would have a few other things to work out, like how to tie the sprinkles on better and stuff, maybe make the top rounder and bigger. Also, we could change the stem on the cherry on the top to brown... anyways this was just a trial run. It was pretty labor intensive, took lots longer than I thought but it was my first time, and uses a lot of stuff so I think it would be actually kinda pricey to make. I also think they could sell for $25-$30 dollars having looked on-line at similar style hats. If you think you would want to sell these I could go look at the store to do a better run down of the cost of different yarns. Uses a thicker thread for the sprinkles, a ribbon for the stem and around the base + bow, and fray check to keep it all together. This yarn, while really good yarn, does get fuzzy in the wash (look at daughters pic with husband - same brand yarn after a few washes). Anyways I don't know if this is what you wanted, and I'm happy to put together or do whatever with the other hats that you ordered if you like, I guess just let me know what you think... (I was going to do a photo shoot with my friends 5 week old baby but baby Jill was cranky and tired, so it didn't work out... we just did a few quick shots with mom so I could see what it looked like on a little head)

These are just really not great pics at all! Some are out of focus and I should have ironed the backdrop fabric but I was too tired and anyways figured you'd get the idea without it all ironed... :) Lazy and tired, yes!
